Jesse Swinger was born into a world of creativity.
He was raised between the colorful backdrops of Hawaii and the
hustle and bustle of the Big Apple. It’s certainly easy
to see how the creative aspects of his life have formed, and the
balance that has been produced as result of these influences. He grew up in Manhattan going to the United Nations International School. He spent his weekends doing the lighting and sound for plays at school and learning all the latest tricks of the trade on the computer. He took pictures in his spare time, and spent many afternoons looking through photographs that his grandfather had taken on African safaris. After graduating high school, he studied film and graphic design at the University of Miami, which is when all the pieces of his life started to fall together. Having DJ-ed since the age of 15, naturally the nightlife of South Beach was an immediate draw for Jesse. He worked through college DJ-ing until the wee hours of the morning in almost all of it’s world-renowned clubs, surrounded by the prettiest people in the world, and the biggest names of Hollywood. Little did he know, he was building the foundation of his career as a DJ, as well as a photographer. Upon graduation, Jesse started a career in entertainment television, and was exposed to even more of the in's and out's of being able to visually tell a story. Shortly after starting his job in TV, he worked for a nightlife magazine, and was sent out to take the pictures of parties for their monthly issues. He also began taking the pictures for the MiamiParties.com Girl of the Month feature, which has been off and running ever since. He has since worked with and has been published in several local and international magazines. After a trip to India taking pictures of a friend’s wedding, Jesse’s photography really blossomed. Immersing himself in such a colorful culture, he started to really appreciate the beauty of every tone and the compliments that color gives to each and every scene of life, which he takes great pride in incorporating in his pictures. Understanding the importance, as well as loving the idea of a colorful photograph, he has trademarked his style as such. “The combination of experiences in my life has created a distinctive fusion in glamour photography that is my own and unique. Every one has it, I just especially enjoy the vibrant nature of mine.” He still DJ’s on South Beach and can be found out and about on any given night of the week. It has led to an interesting peak in his photography career in that he has had the opportunity to do photo shoots in many of those same clubs he spends his nights in, and finds great style in that as well. He has always pushed himself to create remarkably vivid images, as well as embrace the organic nature of every setup. He has built his business by constantly perfecting his craft, studying the latest trends and technologies of photography, and takes great pride in continuing to grow with each picture. ••• |
